This course covers inventory management. This course starts with discussing the planning and control of inventories. Also discussed are the components of inventory and the function and purpose of inventories. In addition, this course looks at the type of manufacturing process, the supply chain process, inputs into the manufacturing system and the supply and distribution process. This course also describes the basic inventory costs and measurements including financial performance measurements and the ABC inventory classification. Lastly, the course provides insight on strategies that are used to increase the financial returns from inventory while improving availability of inventory and improving customer service.
This course is most beneficial to professionals new to inventory management who may be at the staff or entry level in organization but also for a seasoned professional with limited exposure to inventory management.
