FinCEN’s Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting is Here - Are You Ready?

CATEGORY: Specialized Knowledge & Applications
COURSE ID: W817T, VERSION 1.00
  Webinar
2 CPE Credits
Level: Basic
In 2021, Congress passed the Corporate Transparency Act on a bipartisan basis. This law created a new beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirement as part of the U.S. government’s efforts to make it harder for bad actors to hide or benefit from their ill-gotten gains through shell companies or other opaque ownership structures. Reporting begins January 1, 2024.

Professional advisors to a multitude of organizations may be called upon to assist clients in complying with the BOI reporting requirement.

This webinar will discuss what reporting companies will be required to report BOI to FinCEN; who is a beneficial owner of a reporting company; who is a company applicant; what reporting exemptions are available; and the mechanics of the reporting process.

Who should attend: Professionals advising businesses and tax-exempt organizations.

Instructor: Laurie A. Stillwell, CPA
Instructor assignments are fluid and subject to change.
