This course leads the tax preparer through capital transactions for individual and business clients including identifying capital transactions, calculating the gain or loss, and determining whether the capital gain is short or long-term. It explains which dividends are eligible for the same favorable tax rates that apply to long-term capital gains and explores Section 1231 gains and losses.
