Should you own or should you rent? The tax implications may be the deciding factor.
Most taxpayers are aware that they can sell a home and probably pay no tax. Yet many of them get caught by not meeting the strict requirements. Also, many are not aware of the disqualified use requirements that will result in some tax. It is a fallacy to think that all mortgage interest on a home is deductible. There are strict requirements and limitations on deducting mortgage interest, and these were modified by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act for taxable years 2018 through 2025. In addition to covering the rules governing the tax-free sale of a home, this webinar will cover the other advantages of home ownership including deductions for property tax, mortgage interest and home office deductions as modified by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and will prepare you for the scheduled sunsetting of Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provisions at the end of 2025. . In addition to covering the rules governing the tax-free sale of a home, this webinar will cover the other advantages of home ownership including deductions for property tax, mortgage interest and home office deductions as modified by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
