Form 3115 and the Capitalization Regulations: A Practical Approach

CATEGORY: Taxation
COURSE ID: W325T, VERSION 1.00
  Webinar
2 CPE Credits
Level: Basic

This webinar will take a practical approach in identifying and quantifying the required accounting method change(s) required as a result of the recent capitalization regulations. Real world taxpayer scenarios will be discussed, including examples of filled-out Forms 3115. Just released IRS guidance on automatic and non-automatic accounting method changes, Revenue Procedures 2015-13 and 2015-14, will be covered. The regulations also provide a number of annual expensing elections and we will compare and contrast when an election is available or an accounting method change is required. Finally, we will take a comprehensive look at Rev. Proc. 2015-20 and the long-awaited Form 3115 relief allowed for qualified small business taxpayers.

NOTE: The IRS RTRP Program has been replaced with a new, voluntary “IRS Annual Filing Season Program.” The AFSP Program requires that CE Sponsors continue collecting PTINs from IRS professionals who wish to receive IRS credit. CE Sponsors will then be able to report course completions for the PTIN holders who have provided this information. Therefore, all IRS PTIN holders (including Enrolled Agents) should enter their IRS PTIN into Checkpoint Learning so that course completions can be reported to the IRS. You do not need to enter your PTIN for each course you take; you only need to add it once. If you have any questions on how to do this, please contact us 800-231-1860.

THIS WEBINAR IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CTEC CREDIT.
