Course Detail
Because most of the work auditors do is aimed at conducting substantive procedures, auditors must understand how to effectively design and perform these procedures to ensure that reasonable assurance has been gained over all relevant assertions. Data mining and AI technologies can help auditors in this endeavor. Even so, substantive procedures may be rendered ineffective if the auditor misunderstands the fundamental relationships between the relevant assertions and the tested elements. If this occurs, the auditor's conclusion drawn may be wrong. This course gives an overview of the various types of substantive procedures and their relationship and appropriateness to relevant assertions addressed in financial statement audits.
