Entities that maintain inventory rely on the dynamics of balancing the supply chain. Strategy to balance all the functions in the supply chain is critical. This course introduces the basics of supply chain management and the fundamentals of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and then explains the six types of manufacturing operations. The components and techniques used in planning manufacturing activity is presented followed by a dive into inventory management and economic order quantity. In the final chapters, the essentials of manufacturing management, analysis and decision-making is discussed as well as the basic components of purchasing and logistics along with their impact on the supply chain.
