This course leads the tax preparer through capital transactions where recognition of the capital gain or loss is delayed or not recognized as in like-kind exchanges, transfers to entities, involuntary conversions, stock sales to ESOPs, and wash sales. The course also covers stock dividends, qualifying small business stock, principal residence gain, mutual fund investors, and short sales of stock. This course will clarify the calculations behind gain and loss realization and recognition.
